أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَلَا أُنْثَى إِلَّا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ جَرِيرٌ مَعْقُودٌ حِينَ يَرْقُدُ فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِذَا قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى انْحَلَّتِ الْعُقَدُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “There is no male or female except that there is a tied rope on his head when he sleeps. If he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is undone. Then if he gets up, performs ablution, and prays, the knots are undone.”
