أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ خِرَاشٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فَقَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى {قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ} حَتَّى انْقَضَتِ السُّورَةُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَذَا عَبْدٌ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ» وَقَرَأَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ {قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ} حَتَّى انْقَضَتِ السُّورَةُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَذَا عَبْدٌ آمَنَ بِرَبِّهِ» فَقَالَ طَلْحَةُ «فَأَنَا أَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِهَاتَيْنِ السُّورَتَيْنِ فِي هَاتَيْنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ»

✧ A man stood and prayed the two rak'ahs of Fajr. In the first rak'ah he recited {Say: O disbelievers} until he completed the surah. The Prophet ﷺ said, “This is a servant who has known his Lord.” In the second he recited {Say: He is Allah, the One} until he completed the surah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “This is a servant who has believed in his Lord.” Talhah said, “I prefer to recite these two surahs in these two rak'ahs.”
