machine translationA group of the narrators of this hadith from Hishām mentioned that he used to pray the Witr with five rakʿahs, not sitting in any of the five rakʿahs except in the last of them. Ḥammād b. Salamah, Abū ʿAwānah, Wuhayb and others narrated it. Most of the memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Hishām as Mālik narrated it, and the narration that differs from it was only reported from Hishām by the people of Iraq. What Hishām narrated before his departure to Iraq is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ) in their view.
