✧ The Repeating of Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقَزَّازُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ أَخَّرَ ابْنُ زِيَادٍ الصَّلَاةَ فَأَتَانِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ فَأَلْقَيْتُ لَهُ كُرْسِيًّا فَجَلَسَ عَلَيْهِ فَعَضَّ عَلَى شَفَتِهِ ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِي

وَقَالَ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي كَمَا ضَرَبْتُ فَخِذَكَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي وَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي كَمَا ضَرَبْتُ فَخِذَكَ فَقَالَ «صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ مَعَهُمْ فَصَلِّ وَلَا تَقُلْ إِنِّي قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فَلَا أُصَلِّي»

✧ He said: I asked Abu Dharr, and he struck my thigh as I struck your thigh, and said: I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as you asked me, and he struck my thigh as I struck your thigh, and said: "Pray the prayer at its time. If you catch it with them, then pray, and do not say, 'I have already prayed, so I will not pray.'"
