أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ

أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ رَأْسَ الْمِائَةِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ أَخَذَ يَدْعُو فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «سَلْ تُعْطَهْ» ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَانًا لَا يَرْتَدُّ وَنَعِيمًا لَا يَنْفَدُ وَمُرَافَقَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فِي أَعْلَى جُنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ

Translation

✧ That Ibn Masʿūd was standing praying, and when he reached the hundredth verse of al-Nisāʾ he began to supplicate. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Ask, you will be given,” three times. He said: “O Allah, I ask You for faith that does not turn back, and bliss that does not run out, and the companionship of Muḥammad ﷺ in the highest garden of eternal residence.”
