أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْقُرَشِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْبِقَاعِ شَرٌّ؟ قَالَ «لَا أَدْرِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ جِبْرِيلَ» فَسَأَلَ جِبْرِيلَ فَقَالَ لَا أَدْرِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ مِيكَائِيلَ فَجَاءَ فَقَالَ «خَيْرُ الْبِقَاعِ الْمَسَاجِدُ وَشَرُّهَا الْأَسْوَاقُ»

✧ A man asked the Prophet ﷺ, 'Which places are the worst?' He said, 'I do not know until I ask Gabriel.' He asked Gabriel, who said, 'I do not know until I ask Michael.' He came and said, 'The best of places are the mosques and the worst are the markets.'
