أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبُخَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ عَنْ خَلَّادِ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ
صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يَوْمًا ثُمَّ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَوَجَدْنَاهُ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْنَا يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ أَيُّ صَلَاةٍ صَلَّيْتَ؟ قَالَ الْعَصْرَ فَقُلْنَا إِنَّمَا انْصَرَفْنَا الْآنَ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ صَلَّيْنَاهَا مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي هَكَذَا فَلَا أَتْرُكُهَا أَبَدًا»

✧ One day we prayed with Umar b. Abd al-Aziz, then we entered upon Anas b. Malik and found him standing in prayer. When he finished, we said: O Abu Hamzah, which prayer did you pray? He said: Asr. We said: We have just finished Zuhr, which we prayed with Umar b. Abd al-Aziz. Anas said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying like this, so I will never abandon it.
