✧ My father and I departed and entered upon Abu Barzah. My father said to him: Tell us how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the prescribed prayers. He said: He would pray the midday prayer, which you call the first (Zuhr), when the sun had passed its zenith. He would pray Asr, then one of us would return to his home in the farthest part of Madinah. He said: I forgot what he said about Maghrib. He said: He preferred to delay Isha, which you call Atamah, and he disliked sleeping before it and talking after it. He would finish the Fajr prayer when a man could recognize his sitting companion, and he would recite between sixty and one hundred verses.
