✧ Umar b. Abd al-Aziz was sitting on the pulpit and delayed the prayer a little. Urwa b. al-Zubayr said, "Do you not know that Jibril informed Muhammad ﷺ of the time of prayer?" Umar said to him, "I know what you are saying, O Urwa." Urwa said, "I heard Bashir b. Abi Mas'ud say: I heard Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Jibril descended and informed me of the time of prayer, and I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him.' He counted with his fingers five prayers. 'And I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying Zuhr when the sun declines, and sometimes he delayed it when the heat was intense. And I saw him praying Asr while the sun was high and white before yellowness entered it, so that a man would leave from the prayer and reach Dhu al-Hulayfa before sunset. And he prayed Maghrib when the sun fell, and he prayed Isha when the horizon darkened, and sometimes he delayed it until people gathered. And he prayed Subh in darkness, then he prayed another time and made it bright. After that, his prayer was in darkness until he died ﷺ, and he did not return to making it bright.'"

in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 1498 - Sulaymān b. Aḥmad al-Ṭabarānī
in صحيح ابن حبان, p. 1498 - Ibn Khuzaymah
