✧ The impurity and its purification

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ وَائِلٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ

أَنَّ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ طَارِقٍ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَقَالَ إِنَّا نَصْنَعُهَا فَنَهَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا دَوَاءٌ فَقَالَ ﷺ «إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ وَلَكِنَّهَا دَاءٌ»

✧ Suwayd b. Tariq asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about wine and said, "We make it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade him from that. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is a medicine." He ﷺ said, "It is not a medicine, but a disease."
