أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْحَذَّاءُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الرُّكَيْنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ عَمِيلَةَ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ قَبِيصَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ
كُنْتُ رَجُلًا مَذَّاءً فَجَعَلْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ فِي الشِّتَاءِ حَتَّى تَشَقَّقَ ظَهْرِي فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَوْ ذُكِرَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «لَا تَفْعَلْ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمَذْيَ فَاغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ وَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا نَضَحْتَ الْمَاءَ فَاغْتَسِلْ»

✧ I was a man who emitted madhy frequently, so I used to bathe in winter until my back cracked. I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, or it was mentioned to him, and he said, “Do not do that. When you see madhy, wash your penis and perform ablution as you do for prayer; and when you ejaculate water (mani), perform ritual bathing.”
