We were kept busy on the day of the Trench from the Ẓuhr, the ʿAṣr, the Maghrib and the ʿIshāʾ prayers, until we were relieved of that. And that is the saying of God, Blessed and Exalted is He: ﴿وَكَفَى اللهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتَالَ وَكَانَ اللهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا﴾. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ stood and commanded Bilāl, who gave the iqāmah, and he prayed the Ẓuhr as he used to pray it before that. Then he gave the iqāmah [and prayed] the ʿAṣr as he used to pray it before that; then he gave the iqāmah for the Maghrib and prayed it as he used to pray it before that; then he gave the iqāmah for the ʿIshāʾ and prayed it as he used to pray it before that. And that was before there was revealed: ﴿فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ فَرِجَالًا أَوْ رُكْبَانًا﴾
