حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي قُرَّةَ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ:
عَرَضَ أَبِي عَلَى سَلْمَانَ أُخْتَهُ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَهُ، فَأَبَى، وَزَوَّجَهُ مَوْلَاةً لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهَا: بُقَيْرَةُ، قَالَ: فَبَلَغَ أَبَا قُرَّةَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ بَيْنَ حُذَيْفَةَ وَسَلْمَانَ شَيْءٌ، فَأَتَاهُ يَطْلُبُهُ، فَأُخْبِرَ أَنَّهُ فِي مَبْقَلَةٍ لَهُ، فَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَيْهِ، فَلَقِيَهُ مَعَهُ زِنْبِيلٌ فِيهِ بَقْلٌ، قَدْ أَدْخَلَ عَصَاهُ فِي عُرْوَةِ الزِّنْبِيلِ، وَهُوَ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ

My father offered his sister to Salmān in marriage, but he refused, and he married a freed slave woman of his called Buqayrah. He said: It reached Abū Qurrah that something had happened between Ḥudhayfah and Salmān, so he came looking for him, and was told that he was in his vegetable patch. He headed toward him and met him carrying a basket containing vegetables, having put his staff through the handle of the basket, with it on his shoulder.
