People will be presented on the Day of Resurrection before three ledgers: a ledger containing good deeds, a ledger containing blessings, and a ledger containing evil deeds. The ledger of good deeds is set against the ledger of blessings, so the blessings exhaust the good deeds, and the evil deeds remain, their matter left to God, the Exalted: if He wills, He punishes, and if He wills, He forgives.
