حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ، فَنَزَلَ مَنْزِلًا جُرُزًا [١]مُجْدِبًا، وَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ فَنَزَلُوا، قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَجْمَعُوا، [قَالَ] [٢]: فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالصَّغِيرِ إِلَى الصَّغِيرِ، وَالْكَبِيرِ إِلَى الْكَبِيرِ، وَالشَّيْءِ إِلَى الشَّيْءِ حَتَّى جَمَعُوا سَوَادًا عَظِيمًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: هَذِهِ مِثْلُ أَعْمَالِكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ فِي الْخَيْرِ وَالشَّرِّ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of his journeys, and he stopped at a barren, parched place. He ordered his Companions and they dismounted. He said: Then he ordered them to gather [wood]. He said: So a man would come with a small piece to add to the small ones, a large piece to the large ones, and one thing to another, until they had gathered a great heap. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "These are like your deeds, O children of Adam, in good and in evil."
