[حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بَقِيُّ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ]: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ قَالَ:
لَمَّا غَزَا سَلْمَانُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ فَارِسَ قَالَ: كُفُّوا حَتَّى أَدْعُوهُمْ كَمَا كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَدْعُوهُمْ، فَأَتَاهُمْ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَجُلٌ مِنْكُمْ، وَقَدْ تَرَوْنَ مَنْزِلَتِي مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ وَإِنَّا نَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، فَإِنْ أَسْلَمْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا لَنَا وَعَلَيْكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا عَلَيْنَا، وَإِنْ أَبَيْتُمْ فَأَعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَأَنْتُمْ صَاغِرُونَ، وَإِنْ أَبَيْتُمْ قَاتَلْنَاكُمْ، قَالُوا: أَمَّا الْإِسْلَامُ فَلَا نُسْلِمُ، وَأَمَّا الْجِزْيَةُ فَلَا نُعْطِيهَا، وَأَمَّا الْقِتَالُ فَإِنَّا نُقَاتِلُكُمْ، قَالَ: فَدَعَاهُمْ كَذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَأَبَوْا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لِلنَّاسِ: انْهَدُوا إِلَيْهِمْ
