machine translationYazīd b. Hārūn narrated to us, he said: Jarīr b. Ḥāzim informed me, from Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abī Yaʿqūb, from ʿAbdullāh b. Shaddād, from his father, he said:

Machine translation, not reviewed

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was called to prayer, and he came out carrying Ḥasan or Ḥusayn. He placed him beside him and prostrated in the middle of his prayer, making a prostration in which he lingered. My father said: I raised my head from among the people, and behold, the boy was on the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So I returned my head and prostrated. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had finished the prayer, the people said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, you prostrated in this prayer of yours a prostration that you were not accustomed to making. Was something being revealed to you?" He said: "No, but my son made me his mount, and I disliked to hurry him until he had fulfilled his need."
