حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
لَمَّا فَرَغَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ مِنْ بِنَاءِ الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ قِيلَ لَهُ: أَذِّنْ فِي النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ، قَالَ: رَبِّ، وَمَا يَبْلُغُ صَوْتِي، قَالَ: أَذِّنْ وَعَلَيَّ الْبَلَاغُ [١]، فَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْحَجُّ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ، قَالَ: فَسَمِعَهُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ، أَلَا تَرَى أَنَّ النَّاسَ يَجِيئُونَ مِنْ أَقَاصِي الْأَرْضِ يُلَبُّونَ

When Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him) had finished building the Ancient House, he was told: "Proclaim the Pilgrimage among the people." He said: "My Lord, how far will my voice reach?" He said: "Proclaim, and the delivery is upon Me [1]." So Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him) said: "O people, the Pilgrimage to the Ancient House has been prescribed for you." He said: Then everything between the heaven and the earth heard it. Do you not see that people come from the farthest parts of the earth, responding with the talbiyah?
