حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ قَالَ:
كَانَ أَوَّلُ وَصِيَّةِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ: هَذَا مَا أَوْصَى بِهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ: أَنَّهُ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، وَأَوْصَى بَنِيهِ وَأَهْلَهُ أَنِ اتَّقُوا اللهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ وَأَطِيعُوا اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ، وَأُوصِيهِمْ بِمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ ﴿يَا بَنِيَّ إِنَّ اللهَ اصْطَفَى لَكُمُ الدِّينَ فَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ ﴾وَزَعَمَ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ أَوَّلَ وَصِيَّةِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

Abī ʿAmrah bequeathed: that he bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muḥammad is His servant and His Messenger. He bequeathed to his sons and his family that they fear Allah, set right what is between them, and obey Allah and His Messenger if they are believers. And I bequeath to them what Ibrāhīm bequeathed to his sons, and Yaʿqūb: ﴿يَا بَنِيَّ إِنَّ اللهَ اصْطَفَى لَكُمُ الدِّينَ فَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ﴾.
