حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
الْقُرْآنُ يَشْفَعُ لِصَاحِبِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ جَعَلْتَنِي فِي جَوْفِهِ فَأَسْهَرْتُ لَيْلَهُ وَمَنَعْتُهُ مِنْ [١]كَثِيرٍ مِنْ شَهَوَاتِهِ، وَلِكُلِّ عَامِلٍ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ عُمَالَةٌ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ، قَالَ: فَتُمْلَأُ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ [اللهِ] [٢]، فَلَا سَخَطَ [٣]عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَهُ، ثُمَّ يُقَالُ لَهُ: اقْرَأْ وَارْقَ [٤]، قَالَ: فَيُرْفَعُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ دَرَجَةٌ، وَيُزَادُ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ حَسَنَةٌ

And every worker has a wage for his work." Then it will be said to him: "Stretch out your hand." He said: So it will be filled with the good pleasure of [Allah], and there will be no displeasure with him after that. Then it will be said to him: "Recite and ascend." He said: So for every verse a degree will be raised for him, and for every verse a good deed will be added.
