Among the supplications of ʿAmmār was: "O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, to keep me alive [1] as long as You know life to be good for me, and to take me in death when You know death to be good for me. O Allah, [I] [2] ask You for fear of You in the unseen and the seen, and I ask You for moderation in wealth and poverty, and I ask You for justice in contentment and anger. O Allah, make the meeting with You beloved to me, and grant me longing for You, without a misleading trial and without a harmful hardship."
