I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he called a cupper and ordered him to cup him. He brought out cupping vessels [1] made of horns, applied them to him, and made an incision with the edge of a blade, and the blood poured out while I was with him. Then a man from Banū Fazārah entered upon him and said: "What is this, O Messenger of Allah? Why do you allow this man to cut your skin?" He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "This is cupping." He said: "And what is cupping?" He said: "It is [one] [2] of the best things with which people treat themselves."
