Umm Sulaym gave birth to a boy, and Abū Ṭalḥah said to me: "Carry him until you bring him to the Prophet ﷺ." So he brought him to the Prophet ﷺ, and he sent some dates with him. The Prophet ﷺ took him and said: "Is there anything with him?" They said: "Yes, some dates." The Prophet ﷺ took them and chewed them, then took [1] from his mouth and put it in the mouth of the boy, then rubbed his palate with it and named him ʿAbdullāh.
