Abū al-ʿĀliyah entered upon al-Naḍr b. Anas to visit him in his illness. He said: "We have been saying for fifty years that there is no servant who falls ill except that he rises from his illness like the day his mother bore him. And we have been saying for fifty years that there is no servant who falls ill except that Allah says to his two scribes: 'Write for My servant what he used to do while in his health.'"
