machine translationʿAbbād b. al-ʿAwwām narrated to us, from Sufyān b. Ḥusayn, from al-Zuhrī, from Sālim, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said:

Machine translation, not reviewed

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote the book of charity (ṣadaqah) and attached it to his sword - or he said: to his will - and he did not send it out to his officials until he was taken. Abū Bakr acted by it until he died, and ʿUmar acted by it. Concerning the charity on sheep: for every forty sheep, one sheep, up to one hundred and twenty; if it exceeds that, two sheep, up to two hundred; if it exceeds that, three, up to three hundred; if it exceeds that, then for every hundred sheep, one sheep. There is nothing due on them until they reach the hundred. And what is together is not to be separated, and what is separate is not to be brought together. And whatever belongs to two partners, they settle accounts between themselves equally.
