Then the year 349 AH began
وَفِيهَا اسْتَأْمَنَ أَبُو الْفَتْحِ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِابْنِ الْعُرْبَانِ، أَخُو عِمْرَانَ بْنِ شَاهِينَ صَاحِبِ الْبَطِيحَةِ، إِلَى مُعِزِّ الدَّوْلَةِ بِأَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ، وَكَانَ خَافَ أَخَاهُ، فَأَكْرَمَهُ مُعِزُّ الدَّوْلَةِ وَأَحْسَنَ إِلَيْهِ.
Translation
✧ In it, Abū al-Fatḥ, known as Ibn al-ʿUrbān, the brother of ʿImrān b. Shāhīn, ruler of al-Baṭīḥah, sought assurance of safety from Muʿizz al-Dawlah with his family and wealth. He had feared his brother, so Muʿizz al-Dawlah honored him and was generous to him.
