Then the Year 330 AH Began
وَفِيهَا اشْتَدَّ الْغَلَاءُ لَا سِيَّمَا بِالْعِرَاقِ، وَبِيعَ الْخُبْزُ أَرْبَعَةُ أَرْطَالٍ بِقِيرَاطَيْنِ صَحِيحٍ أَمِيرِيٍّ، وَأَكَلَ الضُّعَفَاءُ الْمَيْتَةَ، وَكَثُرَ الْوَبَاءُ وَالْمَوْتُ جِدًّا.
Translation
✧ In it, high prices became severe, especially in Iraq, and bread was sold at four raṭls for two sound amiri qirats. The weak ate carrion, and pestilence and death became very widespread.
