✧ I visited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some women, and there was a waterskin hanging, its water dripping on him from the severity of the heat of the fever he was experiencing. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, if only you would supplicate to Allah to remove it from you.' He said: "The people most severely tried are the prophets, then those closest to them." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.

machine translationIt is narrated by Ḥuṣayn b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and there is disagreement about it from him. Sulaymān b. Kathīr, Shuʿbah, Zāʾidah, ʿAbthar, Fuḍayl and Jarīr narrated it from Ḥuṣayn, from Abū ʿUbaydah b. Ḥudhayfah, from his paternal aunt. Yūsuf al-Qaṭṭān said: my grandfather narrated to us once, from Ḥuṣayn, from Khaythamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Ibn Ḥudhayfah, from an aunt of his. The first is more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
