✧ Sulayman, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, when he stood in his prayer place, would see a tree growing in front of him and would say, 'What is your name?' It would say, 'Such-and-such.' He would say, 'For what purpose are you?' It would say, 'For such-and-such.' If it was for a remedy, he would write it down; if it was for planting, it would be planted. While he was praying one day, he saw a tree growing in front of him and said to it, 'What is your name?' It said, 'Al-Kharnub (carob).' He said, 'For what purpose are you?' It said, 'For the destruction of this house.' Sulayman ﷺ said, 'O Allah, conceal my death from the jinn so that mankind may know that the jinn do not know the unseen.' He said, 'So he carved it into a staff and leaned upon it.' He said, 'Then the woodworm ate it, and he fell down. They found him dead after a year. Thus it became clear to mankind that if the jinn had known the unseen, they would not have remained for a year in the humiliating punishment.' "And Ibn 'Abbas used to recite it thus: 'So the jinn thanked the woodworm, and it used to bring water to it wherever it was.'"
