حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا إِمَامُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْحَرَشِيُّ ثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ الْعَدَوِيُّ ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ

أَنَّهُ جَاءَ فِي رَكْبِ عَشَرَةٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَبَايَعَ تِسْعَةً وَأَمْسَكَ عَنْ بَيْعَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالُوا مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ لَا تُبَايِعُهُ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ فِي عَضُدِهِ تَمِيمَةً» فَقَطَعَ الرَّجُلُ التَّمِيمَةَ فَبَايَعَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ عَلَّقَ فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ He came with a riding party of ten to the Prophet ﷺ. He accepted the pledge of nine and withheld from pledging one man among them. They said: "What is the matter with this man that you do not accept his pledge?" He said: "There is an amulet on his upper arm." The man cut off the amulet, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accepted his pledge. Then he said: "Whoever hangs one has committed shirk."
