✧ I startled a hare in al-Baqi', and it ran off, so I chased it. I was among those who chased it, and I outran them to it and caught it. I brought it to Abu Talhah, and he ordered that it be slaughtered. It was slaughtered and then roasted, but its hindquarter was found tough, so he sent it with me to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "What is this?" I said, "The hindquarter of a hare that Abu Talhah sent to you." So he accepted it from me.
