حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِي عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ اسْمِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَبْدَ شَمْسِ بْنَ صَخْرٍ «فَسَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ»
