أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيِّ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمُّهُ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ قَالَتْ قَدِمْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَأَتَيْتُهَا أُعَزِّيهَا بِأَخِيهَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَقَالَتْ

«رَحِمَ اللَّهُ أَخِي إِنَّ أَكْثَرَ مَا أَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِي أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُدْفَنْ حَيْثُ مَاتَ» قَالَتْ وَكَانَ أَخُوهَا قَدْ تُوُفِّيَ بِالْحَبَشَةِ فَخَرَجَتْ إِلَيْهِ فِئَةُ قُرَيْشٍ فَحَمَلُوهُ إِلَى أَعْلَى مَكَّةَسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ “May Allah have mercy on my brother. The greatest thing I find in my soul is that he was not buried where he died.” She said: Her brother had died in Abyssinia, so a group of Quraysh went out to him and carried him to the upper part of Makkah.
