أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ نَاقَةً لِنُجَيْدِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ رَمَيَتْ وَعِمْرَانُ مَرِيضٌ فَتَأَذَّى بِهَا فَلَعَنَهَا عِمْرَانُ فَخَرَجَ نُجَيْدٌ وَهُوَ يَسْتَرْجِعُ وَكَانَتْ نَاقَتُهُ تُعْجِبُهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ مَا لِكَ؟ فَقَالَ «لَعَنَ أَبُو نُجَيْدٍ نَاقَتِي فَمَا لَبِثَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا حَتَّى انْدَقَّ عُنُقُهَا»

✧ A she-camel belonging to Nujayd ibn Imran ibn Husain kicked while Imran was ill, and it hurt him, so Imran cursed it. Nujayd went out exclaiming 'Indeed we belong to Allah' and his she-camel pleased him. It was said to him: What is the matter with you? He said: Abu Nujayd cursed my she-camel, and it was not long before its neck broke.
