✧ “The most merciful of my Ummah to my Ummah is Abu Bakr, and the strictest of them in the matter of Allah is Umar, and the most truthful of them in modesty is Uthman, and the best reciter of them of the Book of Allah is Ubayy b. Ka'b, and the most learned of them in the obligatory shares is Zayd b. Thabit, and the most knowledgeable of them in the lawful and the unlawful is Mu'adh. Indeed, every Ummah has a trustworthy one, and the trustworthy one of this Ummah is Abu Ubaydah b. al-Jarrah.” This is a chain that is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it with this wording. Rather, they only agreed on mentioning Abu Ubaydah with this chain. I have mentioned its defect in the book al-Talkhis, upon the condition of al-Bukhari and Muslim.
