حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ ثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ لَهُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَأْتُونِي مَعَ إِخْوَانِكُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ عُبَادَةُ «الْحَاجَةُ» قَالَ فَهَلَّا عَلَى النَّوَاضِحِ؟ قَالَ «أَمْضَيْنَاهَا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

✧ Mu'awiya said to them: "O company of the Ansar, why do you not come to me along with your brothers from Quraysh?" 'Ubada said: "Need." He said: "Then why not on the camels used for carrying water?" He said: "We spent them on the day of Badr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
