أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدٍ وَيُونُسَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ يُحَدِّثَانِ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَمَّا عَلِيٌّ فَرَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَمَّا يُونُسُ فَلَمْ يَعُدَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ} [البروج 3] قَالَ «الشَّاهِدُ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ وَيَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْمَشْهُودُ هُوَ الْمَوْعُودُ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ» حَدِيثُ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

✧ From Abū Hurayrah: As for 'Ali, he raised it to the Prophet ﷺ, and as for Yūnus, he did not count Abū Hurayrah in this verse: {And a witness and one witnessed} [al-Burūj 3]. He said: "The witness is the Day of 'Arafah and the Day of Jumu'ah, and the one witnessed is the promised Day of Resurrection." The hadith of Shu'bah from Yūnus b. 'Ubayd is authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, but they did not include it on the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim.

    machine translationThere is disagreement about whether it is traced back (marfūʿ) to the Prophet ﷺ through ʿAmmār: ʿAlī b. Zayd b. Judʿān reported it as raised (marfūʿ), while Yūnus b. ʿUbayd reported it as stopping at the Companion (mawqūf) from Abū Hurayrah, and that is the correct view.
