✧ The people of Mecca asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a sign, and the moon was split in Mecca twice. Allah (the Exalted) said, "The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split" [Al-Qamar 54:1].
Notes
The two sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim) agreed on the hadith from Shu’bah through Qatadah from Anas that the moon was split during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
