machine translationThis is a hadith with a sound chain (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād), and they (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) did not record it. However, the two Shaykhs agreed on recording the hadith of Saʿīd b. Jubayr, from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about the children of the polytheists, and he said: "Allah knows best what they would have done." Authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).
