✧ Mu'adh b. Jabal fell ill one day while Yazid b. 'Umayrah al-Zubaydi was with him. Yazid wept over him. Mu'adh said to him, 'What makes you weep?' He said, 'What makes me weep is that what I used to ask you about every day will be cut off from me.' Mu'adh said, 'Indeed, knowledge and faith are cheerful. Arise and seek them.' Yazid said, 'From whom shall I seek them?' Mu'adh said, 'From four persons: from 'Uwaymir Abu al-Darda', from 'Abd Allah b. Mas'ud, from Salman al-Farisi, and from 'Abd Allah b. Salam, for it used to be said that he is the tenth of ten in Paradise.' Yazid said, 'And from 'Umar b. al-Khattab?' He said, 'Do not ask him about anything, for he is too preoccupied for you.'
