✧ A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "O Messenger of Allah, what is faith?" He said: "When your good deed pleases you and your evil deed grieves you, then you are a believer." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is sin?" He said: "When something pricks in your chest, leave it." This is how 'Ali b. al-Mubarak and Ma'mar b. Rashid narrated it from Yahya b. Abi Kathir. Ma'mar and 'Ali b. al-Mubarak followed him, and it meets their criteria.
