أَخْبَرَنِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ التَّمِيمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لِعَلِيٍّ «يَا عَلِيُّ النَّاسُ مِنْ شَجَرٍ شَتَّى وَأَنَا وَأَنْتَ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ (وَجَنَّاتٌ مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِيلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ تُسْقَى بِمَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ)

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say to ʿAlī, "O ʿAlī, people are from various trees, while I and you are from one tree." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited (And gardens of grapevines, and crops, and palm trees, [growing] clustered and unclustered, watered with one water).
