Chain of narrators
  1. Abū Bakr b. Isḥāq al-Faqīh
  2. Mūsá b. Isḥāq al-Qāḍī

✧ Abū Bakr and ʿUthmān, the two sons of Abī Shaybah, narrated to us; Jarīr narrated to us from Manṣūr from Saʿīd b. Jubayr from Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying, Exalted is He: {Indeed, We sent it down on the Night of Decree} [al-Qadr: 1]. He said: The Qur'an was sent down all at once on the Night of Decree to the lowest heaven, and it was at the positions of the stars, and Allah used to send it down upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ piece by piece. He said: And they said: {Why was the Qur'an not sent down to him all at once? Thus, that We may strengthen your heart thereby, and We have arranged it in a measured order} [al-Furqān: 32].
