✧ Some of the captives on the day of Badr had no ransom, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made their ransom that they teach the children of the Ansar writing. A boy from the children of the Ansar came to his father, who said, 'What is the matter with you?' He said, 'My teacher beat me.' He said, 'The wicked one seeks the blood-price of Badr! By Allah, you shall never go to him again.'
