✧ Two slaves went out to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hudaybiyyah before the peace treaty, and their masters wrote to him saying, "O Muhammad, by Allah, they did not go out to you out of desire for your religion; they only went out fleeing from slavery." Some people said, "They spoke the truth, O Messenger of Allah; return them to them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and said, "I see that you, O Quraysh, will not stop until Allah sends against you someone who will strike your necks over this." And he refused to return them, saying, "They are Allah's freedmen."
