حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ الْعَدْلُ نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمُرَقَّعِ بْنِ صَيْفِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ أَخِي حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ أَنَّ جَدَّهُ رَبَاحًا
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ غَزَا غَزْوَةً كَانَ عَلَى مُقَدِّمَتِهِ فِيهَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَمَرَّ رَبَاحٌ وَأَصْحَابُهُ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مَقْتُولَةٍ مِمَّا أَصَابَ الْمُقَدِّمَةُ فَوَقَفُوا عَلَيْهَا يَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنْ خَلْقِهَا حَتَّى لَحِقَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَفَرَّجُوا لَهُ حَتَّى نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ «هَا مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ تُقَاتِلُ» ثُمَّ نَظَرَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ فَقَالَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ «الْحَقْ بِخَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ فَلَا يُقْتُلَنَّ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا» وَهَكَذَا رَوَاهُ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ «فَصَارَ الْحَدِيثُ صَحِيحًا عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» رواه ابن جريج وغيره عن أبي الزناد على شرط البخاري ومسلم

✧ He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fought a battle in which Khalid b. al-Walid was at the head of his vanguard. Rabah and his companions passed by a slain woman from those the vanguard had struck. They stopped at her, marveling at her appearance, until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with them. They parted for him until he looked at her and said, 'Ha! This one was not fighting.' Then he looked at the faces of the people and said to one of them, 'Catch up with Khalid b. al-Walid and tell him: Do not kill any offspring or hired servant.' And thus it was narrated by al-Mughirah b. Abd al-Rahman and Ibn Jurayj from Abu al-Zinad: 'The hadith has become authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, but they did not include it.' Ibn Jurayj and others narrated it from Abu al-Zinad according to the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim.
