✧ He gathered a hadith and then met Abu Dharr while he was near the middle pillar, and the people were around him. He said, “I sat next to him until my knee touched his knees, and I forgot that hadith and everything I wanted to ask him slipped away from me. I raised my head to the sky and began to remember. I said, ‘O Abu Dharr, guide me to a deed which, if a servant does it, he will enter Paradise.’ He said, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “You believe in Allah.”’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, is there any action along with faith?’ He said, ‘He gives from what Allah has provided him.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what if he is destitute and has nothing?’ He said, ‘He speaks good with his tongue.’ I said, ‘What if he is unable to speak and his tongue cannot convey?’ He said, ‘Then let him help one who is overcome.’ I said, ‘What if he is weak and has no strength?’ He said, ‘Then let him make something for an unskilled person.’ I said, ‘What if he is unskilled?’ He turned to me and said, ‘Do you want to leave any good in your companion?’ He said, ‘He refrains from harming people.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, all of this is indeed easy.’ He said, ‘By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no one of these traits which a servant practices seeking thereby the face of Allah except that it will take him by the hand on the Day of Resurrection and will not leave him until it makes him enter Paradise.’”
