حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَأَبُو مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ وَمَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّيَالِسِيِّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ وَحدثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثنا شُجَاعُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ وَفِي حَدِيثِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ثنا أَبُو حَصِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ فَأُتِيَ بِرُءُوسِ الْخَوَارِجِ كُلَّمَا جَاءَ رَأْسٌ قُلْتُ إِلَى النَّارِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَوَلَا تَعْلَمُ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ عَذَابَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ جُعِلَ فِي دُنْيَاهَا»

✧ I was sitting with Ubayd Allah b. Ziyad when the heads of the Kharijites were brought. Each time a head came, I said: “To the Fire.” Then Abdullah b. Yazid al-Ansari said: “Do you not know, O son of my brother, that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Indeed, the punishment of this Ummah was placed in its worldly life’?”
