✧ While the Prophet ﷺ was in her house, and with him were some men of his Companions conversing, a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah, how much zakat is due on such-and-such amount of dates? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Such-and-such amount of dates. The man said: So-and-so has transgressed against me and taken from me such-and-such, and added a sa‘. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Then how will it be when there are appointed over you those who will transgress against you more severely than this transgression? The people engaged in discussion and the talk overwhelmed them, until one of them said: O Messenger of Allah, if a man is absent from you with his camels, livestock, and crops, and he pays the zakat of his wealth, but the right is transgressed against him, what should he do while he is absent? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever pays the zakat of his wealth with a good heart, seeking thereby the face of Allah and the abode of the Hereafter, and does not hide anything of his wealth, and establishes the prayer and pays the zakat, then the right is transgressed against him, and he takes up his weapon and fights and is killed, then he is a martyr.
