أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
جَلَسَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَنْتَظِرُونَهُ فَخَرَجَ حَتَّى إِذَا دَنَا مِنْهُمْ سَمِعَهُمْ يَتَذَاكَرُونَ فَتَسَمَّعَ حَدِيثَهُمْ فَإِذَا بَعْضُهُمْ يَقُولُ عَجَبًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ اتَّخَذَ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ خَلِيلًا فَإِبْرَاهِيمُ خَلِيلُهُ وَقَالَ آخَرُ مَاذَا بِأَعْجَبَ مِنْ {وَكَلَّمَ اللَّهُ مُوسَى تَكْلِيمًا} [النساء 164] وَقَالَ آخَرُ فَعِيسَى كَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ وَرُوحُهُ وَقَالَ آخَرُ وَآدَمُ اصْطَفَاهُ اللَّهُ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ «قَدْ سَمِعْتُ كَلَامَكُمْ وَعَجَبَكُمْ أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلُ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ وَمُوسَى نَجِيُّهُ وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ وَعِيسَى رُوحُهُ وَكَلِمَتُهُ وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ وَآدَمُ اصْطَفَاهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ أَلَا وَأَنَا حَبِيبُ اللَّهِ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَنَا حَامِلُ لِوَاءِ الْحَمْدِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ شَافِعٍ وَأَوَّلُ مُشَفَّعٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُحَرِّكُ بِحَلَقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَلَا فَخْرَ فَيَفْتَحُ اللَّهُ فَيُدْخِلُنِيهَا وَمَعِي فُقَرَاءُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَنَا أَكْرَمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَلَا فَخْرَ»

✧ Some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ sat waiting for him. He came out until when he drew near them, he heard them discussing, and he listened to their talk. One of them said, “It is amazing that Allah took from His creation a close friend, for Ibrahim is His close friend.” Another said, “What is more amazing than {And Allah spoke to Musa directly} [al-Nisa 164]?” Another said, “Isa is the word of Allah and His spirit.” Another said, “And Adam was chosen by Allah.” He came out to them, greeted them, and said, “I have heard your words and your amazement that Ibrahim is the close friend of Allah, and he is indeed so; that Musa is His confidant, and he is indeed so; that Isa is His spirit and His word, and he is indeed so; and that Adam was chosen by Allah, Exalted is He, and he is indeed so. Indeed, I am the beloved of Allah, and no boast. I am the bearer of the banner of praise on the Day of Resurrection, and no boast. I am the first intercessor and the first whose intercession is accepted on the Day of Resurrection, and no boast. I am the first to move the ring of Paradise, and no boast. Allah will open it and admit me into it, and with me will be the poor among the believers, and no boast. I am the most honorable of the first and the last in the sight of Allah, and no boast.”
